Abstract
GeoCover LC: A Moderate Resolution Global Landcover Database

Earth Satellite Corporation has developed two products based on Landsat data. GeoCover Ortho is an orthorectified Landsat TM scene (based on imagery circa 1990) for the land masses of the world. This data is available from NASA, USGS, and EarthSat. GeoCover LC is a global land cover database derived from the GeoCover Ortho imagery. This data consists of 13 land cover classes and is currently available for North America, Africa, the Middle East and Southwest Asia, and East Asia. This paper briefly describes the status of the project and the process used to create this data set.
