MEGIN: The Maryland Emergency Geographic Information Network
Track: EMS/Fire
Author(s): Matthew Felton

The Maryland Emergency Geographic Information Network (MEGIN) is a coordinated information portal that serves geospatial information to the emergency management community at all levels of Maryland government. MEGIN is not a major application development project; rather, MEGIN leverages a variety of existing data coordination efforts underway in Maryland into an interoperable architecture for a secure, non-intrusive way to find, share, and integrate maps into the decision making process before, during and after an incident.
