AbstractManaging Successful GIS Projects Using DSDM Track: System Implementation for GIS Author(s): Mark Ian Kennion The Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM) is the industry standard framework in the United Kingdom for rapid application development, which is rapidly being accepted internationally as the de facto standard. This paper will provide an overview of the methodology and its benefits over more traditional waterfall project methodologies. The applicability to implementing GIS development projects will be explained with examples of projects undertaken by Esri (UK), which has been using this method for three years. The paper is given by a qualified DSDM practitioner who will outline the lessons learned by Esri (UK) in utilizing this methodology. Mark Ian Kennion Esri (UK) Ltd.
