Fires, and Plants, and Lizards, Oh My! ArcPad GISTrack: Forestry, Wildlife, and Fisheries Management

Use of ArcPad on the Viejas fire, monitoring OHV closures and plant populations in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area, and Flat-Tailed Horned Lizard monitoring transects in Imperial county, California. How we developed large image sets using Mr SID to compress and mosaic digital ortho quarter quadrangles for map backgrounds. Data development and maintenance in the field, and using ArcPad and GPS to navigate along transects and closure boundaries.
