Abstract
Using LIDAR for Surface Modeling

LIDAR is quickly becoming the choice in 3D surface modeling. This paper will focus on surface models derived from LIDAR data. Traditional methods will be discussed and compared to LIDAR methodology. The implications of LIDAR technology and its role in the future of GIS will also be discussed.
