Abstract
Measuring Impact of HPSA Regulations for Marshfield Clinic Regional System

Marshfield Clinic is a large, physician-owned multispecialty practice with more than 600 physicians practicing in more than 40 centers located in central and northern Wisconsin. With pending changes in federal regulations on what constitutes a Health Profession Shortage Area, Marshfield Clinic wanted to be proactive in how these changes might impact reimbursement issues. An analysis of patient origin was performed at some of the regional centers to see the impact the change might have and to gain a better understanding of where our patients come from. Atlas GIS and SAS were used in the analysis.
