AbstractDecision Support Tool for South Florida Hydrology Restoration Evaluation Track: Forestry, Wildlife, and Fisheries Management Author(s): Antonio Martucci, James B. Johnston, Steve Hartley USGS and other agencies have worked on a modeling approach, the Across Trophic Level System Simulation (ATLSS), to predict the responses of a suite of higher trophic level species to different alterations in the Everglades and Big Cypress (South Florida) hydrology regime. The goal of ATLSS is to help resource managers evaluate hydrology restoration plans in comparison with no restoration efforts. ATLSS DST is a customized ArcView project that provides a user-friendly interface to evaluate the effects of alternative water management on critical species such as the American Alligator, Snail Kite, White-tailed Deer, or wading birds modeled in ATLSS. Simple outputs can be generated in the form of maps, time series graphs, summarized tables, and reports. ATLSS DST allows resource managers to include ATLSS model outputs in their decision making process.
