Abstract
An Architecture for Providing Location-Based Telecommunications Applications ServicesTrack: Location Services

Recent activities at Telcordia Technologies have focused on delivering new telecommunication services to customers over the Internet, based on an architecture that uses location to integrate telecommunications and commercial geospatial data. ArcSDE provides a consistent means for accessing data stored in different commercial databases; ArcIMS is exploited to build maps with this data that can be delivered to thick (or thin) clients. This framework also provides the software interfaces needed to integrate highly customized applications. An initial implementation of this architecture demonstrates its applicability for supporting interconnection consulting, network planning, and service negotiation.
