Mobilizing Service Request Tracking

The City of Aurora is using ArcPad and PDAs to answer citizen calls for service. The Streets Division receives an average of 3,000 calls annually for service including potholes, broken sidewalk, debris in streets, downed traffic signs, and ice buildup. Our request tracking system uses ArcView GIS and Microsoft Access to log, track, and plot these requests. However, the system requires field personnel to return to the offices to update responses and receive new calls. We have developed an additional component that allows field personnel to update responses and receive new calls in the field using ArcPad and PDAs.
