AbstractWeb Access to Non-spatial Data Using Internet Map Servers Track: Modeling Author(s): L. John Old Current Web interfaces to nongeographic data are primarily text (HTML) and GIF/JPEG -based. GIS is increasingly being used for spatial analysis of nongeographic data, for example, genome maps, document retrieval, and citation analysis. I will discuss Web-based, visual, interactive access to nonspatial data using an Internet Map Server and ColdFusion. I will explain as an example, how online visual browsing and search of lexical data may be achieved, and I will demonstrate some results of spatial analysis. L.
