Abstract
GIS Serves Tourism

Tourism is very important to most if all countries because it serves several purposes, such as economic base and leisure time. However, the lack of some services, such as good maps, information centers, hotels, and good parks, may affect the tourism. Although Dammam, Saudi Arabia, is one of the nicest Saudi cities and many people come to it from all throughout Gulf Region and spend some time, there is no good map that can be used by the tourists to guide them. This study utilizes ArcView and ArcInfo to create a good digital map for the Dammam area. Further, the map will interactively provide important information for most of the tourist areas.
