Abstract
GIS: Paving the Way for Enterprise-wide Modeling in Cities

Water companies in the UK recognize the important role GIS plays in the management of asset data and the importance of integrating GIS technologies with business and operational applications such as water modeling software. This paper demonstrates through reference to the InfoWorks CS, WS, and RS modeling software suite how Esri's enterprise solution can assist in the modeling of river catchments, urban drainage, and water distribution systems in the UK in order to achieve government and regulatory requirements and improve operational management of networks.
