AbstractMSSOP Provides High-Performance Asset Management at Moulton Niguel Water District Track: Water Distribution, Wastewater, and Stormwater Author(s): Robert Getter, Marc Brown The Moulton Niguel Water District (MNWD) is implementing a prototype GIS as part of an intranet-based portal to a variety of critical asset data. MNWD’s portal includes operating procedures, databases, drawings, models and a prototype GIS. The databases, which include maintenance management, SCADA and customer data, are being integrated and presented via convenient schematic and geographical user interfaces. The aggregate of these data and tools is called the Management System Standard Operating Procedures (MSSOP). MNWD expects to recover the cost of implementing MSSOP several-fold through more effective and efficient system management. MSSOP will improve MNWD’s ability to avoid peak pumping power costs, aid in reducing imported water charges, and help avoid substantial capital costs.
