AbstractWhat's Eligible Here? Cultural Resource GIS, NJ Historic Preservation Office Track: Ecology, Archaeology, and Conservation Author(s): Edith Hoffman Konopka, Kinney E. Clark, Lyna L. Wiggins The New Jersey Historic Preservation Office maintains and reviews information on the location, qualities, history, and regulatory history of historical and archaeological sites in New Jersey. In order to locate and use relevant information in NJHPO files for review of a specific location/area, two to five paper maps and six or more file locations must be consulted. We have designed a GIS, using ArcView and Microsoft Access, that consolidates and overlays mapped site and report information and stores the most current attribute information available, including regulatory review history, for the sites. Pilot conversion data entry has been completed for Gloucester County, and a pilot planning survey, including direct electronic delivery of data, is under way for Salem County.
