AbstractA Bird's Eye View of Forestry: Looking at Stands Track: Forestry, Wildlife, and Fisheries Management Author(s): Gary E Passow Geographic information systems have provided foresters and managers ways of looking at various forestry operations. Maps are usually produced in two dimensions. With the ARC GRID and ARC TIN extensions to ArcInfo, the third dimension can be visualized. But the landscape has trees. Using Esri products, such as ARC GRID and ArcView and a 3D rendering engine, managers can now look at the area and visualize what the stand will look like and what the stand will look like over time.
