Abstract
Massive Production of 75,000 Electoral Maps

Elections Canada is the nonpartisan agency responsible for the conduct of federal elections and referendums. The Electoral Geography Division has the mandate to maintain the GIS database and generate all the maps and related reports to support mainly our officers in the field, members of parliament, political parties, and candidates. The Electoral Maps and Reports Production (EMRP) project consisted of developing and implementing a mass production system based on Esri's ArcMap and Maplex as well as Oracle.
The system allowed the Division to define and produce 75,000 original maps and 60,000 descriptive reports within a 10-week period.
