Abstract
The Ron Brown Airfield Initiative: Improving Military Flight Safety

The Ron Brown Airfield Initiative (RBAI) was established in an effort to improve flight safety for military aircraft. The National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA), in conjunction with numerous public and private organizations, is collecting geospatial information including imagery and survey data for select airfields. M.J. Harden, in conjunction with BAE Systems, has established successful work flow utilizing source data to develop an ArcInfo database that meets NIMA specifications. This presentation will begin with a history of the RBAI followed by a detailed explanation of the implementation process.
