Abstract
Quality Control & Test of 3D Geographic Data Using Esri SoftwareTrack: Database Design, Automation, and Management

The test of geographic data is an important step before starting to use it. This is particularly important when importing 3D data from a CAD environment and when the geographic data should be linked to existing municipal alphanumerical databases. The authors have developed automated procedures that are carried out to check the topology and geometrical and attribute consistency of 3D data before importing it into the centralized geodatabase. This paper illustrates the algorithms used and how they are applied using Esri software in the municipalities of South Tyrol, Italy.
