AbstractGIS and Fire Behavior: Prioritizing Fire and Fuel Management Strategies Track: EMS, Fire, Disaster Management Author(s): Sky Harrison, Dennis Pendleton, Jim Quinn The Public Service Research Program and the Information Center for the Environment at UC Davis are currently working with the Clavey River Ecosystem Project to identify critical areas for the implementation of fire and fuel management strategies in the Clavey River watershed. The latest Esri GIS and fire behavior models are being used to provide fire managers in the Stanislaus National Forest and local stakeholders with scientifically credible information that will help allocate scarce fire and fuels management resources efficiently. This GIS modeling approach can be implemented at multiple spatial scales and adapted to any geographic area on the landscape.
