Abstract
Implementing MapObjects with an Infrastructure Capital Assets Management System
Track: Water Distribution, Wastewater, and Stormwater

This paper presents the use of Esri MapObjects within the CH2M HILL Infrastructure Capital Assets Management System. The assessment examines the usefulness of implementing GIS technology (MapObjects) within an asset management toolkit. The project is focused on the potential impact and usability of a system that tracks infrastructure assets visually while allowing for examination of risk factors and other critical data. This decision-support system has the ability to positively affect decision making and predictive maintenance for major city, state, and federal government agencies as well as water distribution and wastewater service organizations and facilities.
