AbstractA Geography Network for Texas Track: Geography Network Author(s): Brent Porter, Marcy Berbrick State agencies, universities, planning organizations, and local governments, among others, have collected a huge amount of spatial data. How can we make this information both useful and usable to our customers? One way is by making it accessible through a State-wide geography portal. The Texas Geography Network (TXGN) will be a way for users to discover and download data that meets their needs, whether it be State-wide digital data layers, a ready-to-print thematic map or specialized local data. The TXGN, based on Esri's Geography Network, will allow users to search, view, query, and download digital data from a variety of sources in one easy-to-use interface.
