Abstract
Explosive Storage Safety Review Automation

The U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range Environment and Safety Directorate (WS-ES) is implementing an application to calculate and portray quantity-distance arcs from potential explosion sites. Its development involved applying GPS data to establish and QA/QC the background information. The application automates and simplifies review of complicated rules and regulations of explosive storage safety. It also automates the process of selecting new storage sites under different scenarios. The application is based on ArcView, but the approach can be applied to different GIS packages.
