AbstractRoute Systems and Dynamic Segmentation as Tools for Roadway Asset Management Track: Transportation and Logistics Author(s): Anthony Zifer This paper presents the use of GIS in the Hillsborough County, Florida, roadway asset collection and basemapping project conducted by TRANSMAP Corporation. TRANSMAP, a mobile mapping and terrestrial photogrammetry company, collected approximately a half million point and linear right-of-way assets across 3,000 miles of County-maintained roads in the greater Tampa area. The paper highlights the use of route systems and dynamic segmentation to provide asset information, project management, and legacy data migration throughout this 11-month project.
