Abstract
IKONOS Use in Forestry

The IKONOS satellite provides unprecedented high-resolution panchromatic and multispectral information from a commercial satellite. Previous work has focused on information extraction from a variety of resolution (spatial and spectral), aerial, and satellite data sources. With IKONOS, we are beginning to see the use of satellite data in applications previously requiring aerial imagery. This paper will highlight some of the uses and various applications of different remote sensing data sources with particular attention to new projects and applications using IKONOS in forestry today.
