Abstract
City of Hampton, Virginia, Launches Technology Initiative
Track: Water Distribution, Wastewater, and Stormwater

Three years ago, the only information available to Wastewater Operations for the City of Hampton, Virginia, was in the form of as-built drawings as well as site and development plans located in another office several miles away. A technology project was initiated to facilitate daily operations of the wastewater system. The end result of the project would include producing highly accurate digital maps, which would include all features of the aging system, while utilizing other computer programs to enhance management of the system with integrated work order and inventory software.
