AbstractGIS in Middle Egypt: A Case Study in Data Integration Track: Water Distribution, Wastewater, and Stormwater Author(s): Jeff Hendrich, Michael W McKeon, Darryl G Murdock Harza Engineering Company is completing a strategic long-term water and wastewater master plan for three Middle Egypt governorates for USAID's Egypt Utility Management Program. Harza’s main goal is to provide a tool to update existing conditions, revise the master plan, and use the master plan as a decision making tool. This project employs a novel planning approach that incorporates GIS to facilitate access and view various types of data including maps, GPS data, digital photos, and facilities data in the same coordinate space. The GIS is also being used to prepare data sets for hydraulic modeling efforts and will become a repository for the model results. The GIS software is being refined to provide end users access to simplified menus to allow casual users to access summary data, model data, maps, and drawings. Jeff Hendrich Harza Engineering 233 S.
