AbstractStormwater: From Data Collection to Interface Development Track: Water Distribution, Wastewater, and Stormwater Author(s): Shawn Landry, Naomi Monette Oliver, Kyle Campbell Hillsborough County (Florida) Public Works hired the FCCDR to restructure the County's storm water field data collection effort. By utilizing the new protocol, which coupled GPS data collection and GIS postprocessing, the County surveyed roughly one-third of its municipality in less than one year's time, a marked improvement over the six years it took to do the other two-thirds while using the old method, which included manually plotting and digitizing the data. The FCCDR was also contracted to develop an ArcView Stormwater Asset Browser to enable County staff not trained in GIS to access the data efficiently and easily.
