GPS for GIS
Track: New Technology and Technology Integration

This session will provide a basic introduction to using GPS for field data collection and maintenance purposes. Methodologies of field data management for GIS databases with attribute data will be introduced, and issues surrounding differential correction will be discussed, with a specific emphasis on the impact of the removal of Selective Availability (SA). Examples of collecting and processing data and metadata for an enterprisewide solution will be provided.
