Abstract
Integrating Municipal GIS Functions in One ArcInfo ApplicationTrack: Application Development

This paper presents an ArcInfo application developed in the GIS Mapping Division that performs multiple functions. The City of Los Angeles has GIS information for 470 square miles of land, 6,500 miles of streets, 6,500 miles of sewer, and 1,700 miles of storm drain system. The application allows users to perform editing, query information, handle special map requests, and more by pointing and clicking. This application also performs integrity checks of the LIBRARIAN system and synchronizes Oracle tables with Info tables to support other application development. This application improves performance and ensures integrity and consistency throughout the GIS database.
