AbstractGeological Urban Risk Cartography Track: Mining and Geosciences Author(s): Calijuri Lúcia, Meira Anderson, Bhering Eduardo This work presents a characterization of real geological urban risk in Viçosa City, Minas Gerais State, Brazil, which was carried out in order to obtain input data to develop a digital database and provide useful information for future urban planning and a more accurate characterization of geological risks. A geographic information system was then used for the storage and spatial analysis of the information, either graphical or descriptive. Descriptive data present in the database contains geological processes, field evidences, main geological conditioning, soil or rock type, layers thickness, occupation, potential damages, geological risk, other important features observed, photos, and sketches.
