Section 4: Other LandView Capabilities
GPS

LandView is able to connect to a GPS unit to provide on-the-fly mapping.  To do this:

If the user is in motion the red dot in your LandView Display Window will move accordingly (such as when driving a car or boat). Under the GPS preference there is the option to change the distance in miles traveled before LandView refreshes the screen. Increasing this number will lessen the number of times LandView refreshes the screen.

You can also change the refresh rate in the dialogue box that pops up when you tell the program to turn the GPS on. To change the refresh rate in this box simply click in the text box where it shows the current refresh rate ("Update Interval in Miles") and enter a new number.

Below the refresh rate text box, there is a button you can press to quickly set the refresh rate to 0.01 miles, which is the minimum refresh rate available.

There is also the option to manually refresh the screen at any time (for example if the car is no longer moving). Do this by pressing the refresh button at the bottom.
