AbstractIntegrating GIS, Computerized Maintenance Managements Systems (CMMS), and Asset Management Track: Water Distribution, Wastewater, and Stormwater Author(s): James McKibben, Derold Davis Much of the information that is maintained in a CMMS is spatial data for an asset in a network with a specific location in space. The use of a GIS can significantly enhance the capabilities of CMMS by providing additional spatial analysis and the ability to quickly locate geographically dispersed facilities in a water distribution system, a wastewater collection system, or other utility networks. This paper will summarize the GIS capabilities associated with some of the major commercial CMMSs and discuss some of the key issues that must be considered in the development of an integrated CMMS/GIS.
