AbstractDeveloping an ArcInfo ArcSDE Geodatabase for Hydraulic Modeling Track: Water Distribution, Wastewater, and Stormwater Author(s): Lindle Willnow, Brian Wopershall An application was developed for Cleveland, Ohio's Water Division using ArcInfo and ArcSDE to model its distribution system's hydraulic and include all 4,500 miles of pipes and appurtenances. The GIS, derived from ArcFM, also stores information on maintenance and demands. Leveraging the complex edge features ArcInfo of 8 allowed pipe segments in GIS to match those in the H2ONet system model with several appurtenances per edge segment. Other unique features of the project include use of related tables; allocation of the demands of all 400,000 customers; and development of several custom visual basic tools to facilitate modeling.
