 Digital Image Based GASB34 Asset Tracking Track: New Technology and System Integration Author(s): Howard Shieh, Jason Dong The Bureau of Highway of Howard County, Maryland has successfully captured the countywide digital images along the county roads. Using digital cameras on a passenger van, the capturing of the images was completed in 5 weeks. By clicking on the images, asset records with coordinates and imensions are created. An intranet site powered by ArcIMS allows the County users to view the driving simulation on any county roads. The Bureau of Highway now uses the images to validate pavement rating and establish asset inventory.
