GIS Analyses of the Landslides in 2004, Mid Niigata
Track: Mining and Geosciences

In 2004, heavy rainfalls and intensive earthquakes triggered numberless landslides in Mid Niigata, Japan. Using ArcInfo, we have analyzed and compared in distribution, related to geology and geomorphology, between the two events. As the results, we have found that the landslide density, and geologic facies where the landslides are concentrated, are remarkably different.
