Mobile Workflow for the Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District (CVMVCD)
Track: Health and Human Services
Authors: Cary Roberts, Edward Prendez

A demonstration of a ARCGIS Mobile application showing workflow for the field data capture of Mosquito and Vector habitats in the Coachella Valley. In the past, the vector staff has had to rely on daily form's to record their work in the field, showing the habitat, acreage, and chemical applied. With a staff of over 25 technicians this amounted to a lot of time recording their daily activities. This data was given to clerical staff for entry into a database, used primarily for reporting purposes. Some of the data was lost due to inconsistencies, misinterpretation or lack of completeness.
With the deployment of the new Mobile system, data capture will be consistent and complete in real time, utilizing wireless technology, SDE, and SQL Server for storage, retrieval and Crystal reports for reporting purposes in a real time environment all over the web.
