Abstract
AvEMC: Tools for Decision MakingTrack: Application Development

AvEMC for ArcView is an extension for supporting decision making. AvEMC is a set of tools that integrate technology as a Decision Support System. In this paper, we will examine the characteristics and advantages that GIS presents in order to help the support for making decisions. It is an ability that is presented in order to manage qualitative and quantitative data so as to improve the decisions about any kind of problem. A case study for location mineral beds using mathematical models will also be presented. With these tools, results can be compared and analyzed in order to improve the decisions with the information presented.
