AbstractThe Usage of Survey Data in Urban and Landscape Planning in Germany Track: Surveying Author(s): Sandra Goluecke At this time, there are two types of survey data available in Germany: the Automated Real Estate Map (ALK, scale 1:1,000) and the Authoritative Topographic and Cartographic Information System (ATKIS, scale 1:25000). These data sets are almost available for the whole country and represent the base for urban and landscape planning. A geographic information system is the main instrument for municipalities to combine the most important database with specific data from diverse departments. Author describes how subject-specific data is created based on ALK and ATKIS and shows that the use of a central geodatabase enables high quality and efficiency of the different types of planning.
