Abstract3D Data Model for Representing Topological Relations of Urban Features Track: Modeling Author(s): Jiyeong Lee This paper is to develop a 3D object-based data model for representing topological relations in urban microspatial environments. This paper intends to represent the 3D spatial objects, such as condominiums and mixed-use buildings, in a GIS by developing a 3D object-based data model. To simplify the complex spatial relationships between 3D entities (housing units), dual graphs are utilized to interpret the topological terms. The conceptual combinatorial 3D data model represents, with a graph, the topological relationships such as adjacency and connectivity relations of 3D spatial objects. The developed 3D system is fully integrated into existing 2D GISs to implement the GIS functions.
