AbstractDeveloping a GIS-Based Model and an Interactive Web Site for a City-Wide Recreational Bikeway Network: an Application for Buffalo, New York Track: Transportation and Logistics Author(s): Md Mahbubur Rabb Meenar This paper discusses the development of a GIS-based model for designing a city-wide recreational bikeway network and an interactive website for that network for the City of Buffalo, New York. The researcher will identify potential bike trip generators and bicycle demand corridors for designing the network that will connect parks, waterfronts, architectural and industrial heritage sites, abandoned railroads, and other assets of the city. Such a project might have significant impact on community development as well as regional tourism by providing the visitors with detailed information and images of routes, attractions, facilities, and downloadable maps.
