AbstractThe City of Tucson Economic Development ArcIMS Solution Track: State and Local Government Author(s): Russell Riblett, Pablo Monzon The City of Tucson is using the Internet to make economic, demographic, and spatial data available to assist and attract businesses working with their City. Internet GIS applications for economic development expand the level of information available to the public and businesses by making an interactive site-selector tool and analysis of demographic and economic data available. Users can find a space based on an address or according to the desired size and type of building. A list of all the spaces that meet the given criteria is produced, and the user can review the list of properties to see the characteristics of each space as well as their locations on the map. Real estate brokers input the information online. They can also modify any information of their properties or delete those which are no longer available. Each real estate broker has a login and password, so they are the only ones who can modify their property information. This application was developed using ArcIMS and Active Server Pages.
