Section 2: The Where Window
Current Location

This is a feature of the Where Window for entering a point of reference or location (red dot) using UTM (A) or Latitude/Longitude (B) coordinates.  Simply type in the coordinates and the locator dot will automatically move to that point in the state.  Also, the coordinates for the other location descriptions will be updated.

You may alternately move to a new location by entering a township and range and possibly a section, forty, or government lot (C). If only a township and range are entered, (no section or forty) the UTM and Latitude/Longitude coordinates will be for the center of the township. If a section is entered the coordinates will be for the center of the section. If both a section and forty are entered the coordinates will be for the center of the forty. As you type in data for a particular PLS description, the red dot locator on the small map of the state will change accordingly, along with the other dialogue boxes on the Where Window.

When coordinate or PLS information is entered the other dialog boxes are updated when the Enter key is pressed.  If the value in the dialog box has been changed, the Where Window is also updated when that dialog box loses focus or the space bar is pressed.
